Mother’s Restaurant – 401 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 – The sign advertises that Mother’s is famous for it’s baked ham sandwich, but we came here for “po boys.” After eating all day, I was pretty full, but I wasn’t going to be stopped from having this traditional New Orleans staple from this famous restaurant. We ordered the shrimp po boy and I have to say that it was the best po boy I’ve ever had. It wasn’t over stuffed, but it was still very filling. The pickles really added an interesting salty-sour element to the perfectly fried shrimp. The bread was also really good because it wasn’t too heavy, but it held up to ingredients really well while still tasting fresh.
