Second Line Parade After the Wedding

Post-Ceremony Second Line Parade! After the wedding ceremony, a police escort allowed the bride and groom to walk around the streets of New Orleans (drink in hand because it’s legal there) in a parade driven by a brass band. This was a lot of fun, even in the sweltering humidity that drapes itself over New Orleans like an unseasonable coat. We danced and marched our way even onto the famous Bourbon street where people watched, took photos, and cheered the bride and groom. Now, I can always say that I marched in a parade in New Orleans. That may be commonplace for New Orleans natives, but it’s new to me and a memory I’ll always cherish of this trip.
