In addition to seeing different takes on soda labels in different countries, I also love checking out foreign candy. This is a Lion bar made by Nestle. It is a wafer surrounded by caramel, which is again surrounded by crispy rice cereal encased in chocolate. This is my cousin’s husband’s favorite chocolate bar, so he insisted I try it and it did not disappoint. One strange thing about chocolate in Sudan is that it is all refrigerated. I realized that their chocolate melts if it isn’t refrigerated unlike chocolate in the U.S. It’s not even that the temperature is hot in Sudan (which it is in the Summer) because the temp was regularly around 70 degrees or so. I just thought that was interesting.
