In a continuation of the outdoor dining theme, my cousins took my brother and I to have breakfast at a cafe called, “Ozone.” It is located inside a rotary of one of the main streets making it feel like a kind of oasis in the dessert. Trees hedged and shaded the interior of the rotary, which made for a really pleasant sitting area. The temperature was a dry 75 degrees, so it felt great just being outside. Our server was a young [Filipino] woman. That’s right, [Filipino]. She spoke almost perfect English and then I heard her speaking Arabic to another Sudanese employee, which made me smile. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a large cappuccino. My brother ordered a cinnabon slathered in frosting with a large cappuccino. Two of my cousins shared a fresh grilled chicken salad and my cousin’s husband had a cold balsamic grilled chicken sandwich. Everything tasted great. I was just surprised by how large the capuccino was. When I asked for a large, I expected a European large (an American small). Instead I got an extra large by American standards!

The server wasn’t chinese. She’s from the Philippines. 🙂
My apologies! I was told otherwise, but of course, I should have taken that with a grain of salt considering the source (my cousins). Good to know now though and I’m fascinated by that fact!
