I did a double take when I saw this on my aunt’s table. I hesitantly asked if those were spring rolls and they confirmed that they were indeed spring rolls. The rolls were indeed the same rolls used to make spring rolls I’ve had before, but that’s where the comparison ended. Inside the spring rolls was a mixture of feta cheese and spicy pickles. That might not sound appetizing, but it honestly tasted pretty good. When I was in a Sudanese grocery store, I noticed that they had an entire aisle devoted to Asian foods like sauces, noodles, and wraps. This further confirmed what I was slowly learning: In Sudan, they have almost everything we have in the U.S.
